Ponoka, Strathmore Stampedes shelved

Two more rodeo and chuckwagon shows have been shelved because of the pandemic.

Organizers have announced that the 84th edition of the Ponoka Stampede has been postponed to June 28 to July 4, 2021.

They say in a Facebook post they understand and respect the restrictions placed on gatherings.

This year’s edition was supposed to go from June 26 to July 1.

Ticket holders can sue them next year or get a refund.

Organizers of the Strathmore Stampede announced the cancellation of this year’s event Tuesday.

It was set to run from July 31 through August 3.

Six WPCA stops, plus the Calgary Stampede, have now been cancelled or postponed.
