Government of Alberta injects $12.7 million into Peace River CMR projects
The Government of Alberta announced Tuesday that as part of its $1.9 billion accelerated capital maintenance and renewal (CMR) funding, the Town of Peace River will see $12.7 million injected into six CMR projects. This will keep 71 Albertans in the area working.
Four of the six CMR projects listed by the provincial government are at the Peace River Correctional Centre, which will go to help the following projects:
- Upgrading the correctional centre’s main building heating system, security systems, and replacing exterior concrete at entrances.
- Replacing the vocation shop roof, connecting the correctional centre’s water system to the Town of Peace River’s system.
- Replacing the provincial building’s management control system, window glass, gaskets and caulking,
- Modernizing the court houses elevator components to enhance barrier-free access and enhancing the court houses fire system.
Also included in the announcement is funding for the $800,000 project at the court house to modernize elevator components that will enhance barrier-free access. Funding to the tune of $219,000 has also been doled out to enhance the fire safety system on the court house, as well.
