Alberta posts 129 new recoveries from COVID-19 while adding 50 new cases
The province added 50 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, while one new case was found in the North Zone.
Recoveries continued to climb on Thursday in Alberta, with 129 new recoveries since the day before to bring the total amount of recovered cases to 5,205, while 1,131 cases are active as of May 14. There was one more death in Alberta over the last 24 hours, coming in Calgary, bringing the death toll from COVID-19 in Alberta to 121.
Of the 228 cases in the North Zone as of May 14, 20 are active, 193 have recovered and 15 have died.
The rise in recoveries has been seen in the hardest-hit areas in the Peace Region, where there are just three active cases in the M.D. of Smoky River area as of Thursday, while the Big Lakes County area has just one active case.
