Grande Prairie museums set to re-open June 2

On Friday, the City of Grande Prairie announced that Grande Prairie Museum & Heritage Village, Ernie Radbourne Pavilion (Muskoseepi Park) and the Heritage Discovery Centre (Centre 2000) will re-open to the public on Tuesday, June 2.

The locations will be open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. All sites will be closed throughout the day on Mondays.

COVID-19 restrictions have been put in place at all locations. The following restrictions include:

  • Specific entrance and exit doors.
  • Visitors will be asked to use hand sanitizer as they enter facilities.
  • Markers on the floor to direct foot traffic and to encourage physical distancing.
  • Hands-on displays and interactive pieces have been removed or put out of service.
  • Debit/credit card payment is encouraged for gift shop purchases; staff will not be able to provide change for vending machines.
  • Bathrooms will be open with a reduced number of stalls, urinals and sinks.
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols put in place throughout the buildings.
