Three Grande Prairie residents arrested following drug seizure

On June 12, Grande Prairie RCMP arrested three men following a lengthy investigation which led to a search warrant, where a number of drugs were seized.

The RCMP say that the search warrants were conducted by the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Section with assistance from Grande Prairie General Duty members at residences in both Grande Prairie and Wembley.

The investigation lasted for two months and resulted in the following items seized by RCMP:

  • $14,000 cash.
  • 79 individual pieces of cocaine packaged for resale.
  • 27 grams of mushrooms.
  • Paraphernalia used to package cocaine for trafficking.

The Grande Prairie RCMP have charged 25-year-old Arbaaz Zafar Karachiwalla and 21-year-old Bryan Randall Krupka with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possess property obtained by crime over $5000 and one count of breach of recognizance.

Twenty-seven-year-old Amir Jaber of Grande Prairie has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Karachiwalla is awaiting a Judicial Interim Release Hearing. Krupka and Jaber are scheduled to appear in court on August 12.
