Two people are now facing charges after a search at a property near Valhalla.

On June 12, Beaverlodge RCMP, with help from the Grande Prairie RCMP Police Dog Services and the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, executed the search warrant.

It turned up several items that were seized by police, including stolen license plates, stolen cheques, firearms, weapons including knives, bear spray, a crossbow and an air pistol, controlled substances, and unspecified tools.

Three people were arrested, two of whom were charged.

Thirty-year-old Teri Tulokas-Hatton and 32-year-old Thomas Burt, both of Valhalla, are jointly charged with seven counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), two counts of possession of a firearm without holding a license, and two counts of possession of a firearm knowing they are not holders of a license.

Tulokas-Hatton is also facing additional charges, including three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited, and eight counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release.

Both Tulokas-Hatton and Burt have been remanded and are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on June 22.
