One suspect charged in seizure of $63K in cocaine, cash in Fort McMurray

An Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) investigation in Fort MCMurray has led to the arrest of a man, and the seizure of nearly $63,000 worth of crack cocaine and cash.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, ALERT’s Fort McMurray organized crime team executed a search warrant at a residence in the Parsons Creek subdivision in downtown Fort McMurray. During the searchm the team discovered and seized 449 grams of crack cocaine, and more that $18,000 in cash.

“This is a significant seizure for Fort McMurray,” said Insp. Sean Boser, ALERT Regional Teams, in a release. “ALERT is proud to work with its partner agencies to keep dangerous drugs like these off the streets of Alberta communities.”

Razwanullah Rahmani, 27, of Calgary has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime. He is due in court on August 25, 2020.
