Small brush fire extinguished near St. Joseph Catholic Church

The Grande Prairie Fire Department was quick to extinguish a small brush fire behind St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called in around 5 p.m. to the hill down into Muskoseepi Park behind the church along 105 Avenue where a small fire, about a tenth of a hectare in size, had broken out. Crew quickly extinguished the blaze sometime before 5:45 p.m.

The fire department says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
