No new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the Peace, province adds 38

The province confirmed 38 new cases of COVID-19 for June 25 while there was no change to cases in the Peace Country.

There are now 509 active cases in Alberta, while 7,225 people have recovered.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of the day June 25 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 18 cases (All recovered)
  • County of Grande Prairie: Seven cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 67 cases (57 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 41 cases (One active, 35 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: Five cases (All recovered)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Four cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: Six cases (All recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: Ten cases (Two active, eight recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: Zero cases
  • Mackenzie County: 37 cases (Four active, 33 recovered)

There are now 37 people in hospital with COVID-19 in Alberta, one less than June 24. Eight of those individuals remain in ICU. Six people in the North Zone are in hospital with one of those patients in ICU.

There were 6,635 tests processed in Alberta in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests administered to 422,351 as of Friday’s update. 29,841 individuals from northern Alberta have been tested.
