Berwyn man charged after $30k worth of stolen industrial equipment recovered

Peace Regional RCMP have charged a man from Berwyn after officers allegedly discovered approximately $30,000 worth of stolen industrial equipment in a storage unit in Peace River.

Authorities were called to the self-storage facility at around 5 p.m. Saturday, July 4, on a report of a disturbance. Police found a man exhibiting erratic behaviour and as they approached him, officers noticed what was believed to be stolen property. A search warrant was granted for the unit, and the items were seized by RCMP.

Now, 36-year-old Kyle Patrick Neel of Berwyn is charged with:

  • Six counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Three counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order
  • Two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a probation order
  • One count of possession of ammunition while prohibited from doing so
