November 9, 1946 – July 11, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, A. Sharon Skinner.
Sharon was born in Sexsmith, AB. She would stay in the Peace Country attending Meadowview School and contributing to the family farm. She would later move to Grande Prairie to raise her three children.
Sharon had a very loving nature and hard work ethic. This carried throughout her life with various careers all while raising her children, helping with her grandchildren and many others who saw her as a mother figure. Family always came first and foremost. Sharon touched many lives with her generosity and loving nature.
From the time she was a girl, her passion was horses. As time went on and she could no longer ride, she found joy in driving through her brothers field to take in their beauty.
In her true competitive nature she made a game out of everything, you really had to work to get a win. Her competitive streak lasted her whole life, even with her grandchildren. You always heard about her beloved Oilers, win or lose.
Sharon leaves behind her children: Tracy (Floyd), Richard and Kim (Kevin), as well as her four grandchildren: Riki-Lee, Devon, Olea and Odin.
Sharon is survived by her siblings: Glenn (Doreen), Corrine (Bob) and Larry (Marlene) and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon is pre-deceased by her parents Stanley and Irene Moodie, grandparents John and Olea Blomli, brothers Lesley Moodie, Wayne Moodie and sister-in-law Shirley Moodie.
