A search and rescue operation is underway in Peace River for a missing 47-year-old woman.

Peace River RCMP say Miranda Berreth was last seen Saturday morning. She left her home in the Saddleback neighbourhood on foot and was last seen entering the bush along 85 Street at around 8:25 a.m.

Mounties are asking the public to stay away from the search area unless they report to the command post at 84 Street and 106 Avenue in Peace River first.

She is described as Caucasian, 5’6″, 170 pounds, with brown eyes and medium-length brown hair with blonde streaks.

Anyone who knows where she might be is asked to call Peace River RCMP at 780-624-6677.
