County announces road construction & road closures in La Glace and Clairmont

Starting on August 19, a section of Range Road 83 north of La Glace will temporarily close for a bridge replacement.

Range Road 83 from Township Road 744 to Township Road 750 will be closed to traffic, while Range Road 83 from Highway 59 to Township Road 744 will be open for local traffic only.

Motorists will be able to detour around the area by using Township Road 750, Range Road 82 and Township Road 744.

Any vehicle that is over one tonne must detour using Highway 59, Range Road 85 and Township Road 750.

The bridge project is expected to finish sometime in early November, pending good weather.

Road construction will also begin in the Willowdale subdivison in Clairmont on August 17, with road closures starting on August 24.

Crews will pave 95 Street, 101 Avenue and 103 Avenue in two phases to lessen the impact on local residents..

The project is expected to be completed by early October and crews will be working in two phases indicated on the map below.

The construction is apart of the County of Grande Prairie investing over $42 million in road construction projects throughout the County.
