Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, also provided an update on the COVID-19 outbreak linked to the It Is Time Canada event from July 30 to August 2 in the hamlet of Deadwood, near Manning. After Northern Health in BC identified 17 cases linked to that event, Dr. Hinshaw says there are 15 in Alberta that are a result of that event.

“An estimated 200-300 people attended over the course of the three day gathering,” said Hinshaw. “We are working with BC Health to ensure that contact tracing is completed for all those who attended.”

Dr. Hinshaw is asking anyone who attended, or is a close contact of someone who did attend, to book a COVID-19 test.
