Aggravated assault charge laid after incident in Fort Vermilion area

Fort Vermilion RCMP have arrested a 47-year-old man after an alleged assault that sent one person to hospital.
Mounties say just prior to midnight on August 12th, a suspect broke into a home and violently assaulted another person with a weapon.
The victim, who was asleep at the time of the attack, suffered serious life-threatening injuries. They are now listed in stable condition in hospital.
Travis St. Arnaud of John D’or Prairie is charged with aggravated assault and break and enter.
