Harley Darryl Giberson, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at home, at the age of 42 years.

 

Harley was born August 2, 1978, in Prince Albert, SK, to Gerry Giberson and Margo Anderson-Boucher. He grew up between Alberta and Saskatchewan, but his grandparents’ home in Tweedsmuir, SK, was where he considered home. As a teenager, he worked with the family construction company, alongside his brothers, learning the value of hard work and family. He moved to Grande Prairie in 1996, beginning his career in the oilfield, and working for Calfrac for the last 15 years, where his commitment and work ethic was recognized and valued, and where he made lasting friendships.

 

He was a devoted, thoughtful and loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a master multi-tasker, able to cook, work and play with his sons at the same time. He was a great cook and loved to share his fine dining skills with his family and friends. His favourite pastimes were fishing, boating, camping and hockey. He especially loved teaching his children Lincoln, Lucca and Santana to fish, and he loved watching his boys learn to play hockey. He enjoyed concerts and travelling with Dawn, and a cold Canadian while listening to music with his brothers. He had an amazing smile and infectious laugh, with a positive outlook on life. One of his greatest characteristics was making others laugh and enjoy life no matter what the circumstances. Harley’s family was everything to him, and he did his best to make everyone in his circle content and cheerful. He was loved unconditionally by his mother, and they shared many special times talking, listening, and laughing together. His nieces and nephews will miss their lovable uncle’s comical teasing, daily snaps, and advice on must do’s and don’ts. Harley was so loved and will be forever in our hearts.

 

Harley will be greatly missed by his spouse Dawn Chenoweth; children: Lincoln, Lucca and Santana; mother Margo Anderson-Boucher; brothers: Devin (Erin) Giberson, Justin (Chantal) Boucher, and Gerry Giberson; nieces and nephews: Mylan (Emily), Morgan (Billy), Darius, Melody, Latisha, Lanelle, Lynessa, Logan, Paisley, Pierson, Justin Jr., Dylan, Tiegan and Jayce; grandfather Myles Anderson; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

 

He was predeceased by his father Gerry Giberson; brother Derrick; grandparents Rema Anderson, and Marilyn and Perlie Giberson; cousins Gerald, Contessa and Nictima, and his uncle Vernon.

 

The family held a small service on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
