Unseasonably warm weather coming to Peace Region next week
Weather in the Peace Region and most of Alberta will feel more like fall than winter in the next week.
Eric Dykes, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, says that they’re expecting a blast of warm air to hit the prairies over the next seven days.
“There is a large upper ridge, a big area of high pressure surfacing up in the atmosphere that is going to be coming over the Grande Prairie region at the beginning of the week. In some cases, temperatures are going to be above normal for highs, which is quite a bit higher than the normal highs which are around about minus five.”
“That warm air is going to be coming from the southwest, from the Pacific Ocean itself and it’s going to be dry for the most part as well, so very nice warm weather coming next week for the Grande Prairie region.”
