Domestic abuse suspect arrested in Fort Vermillion

A suspect connected to a reported domestic dispute in John D’or Prairie has been located and arrested by the Fort Vermillion RCMP.

Just before 11 a.m. on Monday, November 23, the RCMP were called to investigate after a victim reported being assaulted and threatened with a knife.

The officers investigation led to additional information being provided of multiple criminal offences that had allegedly taken place over the course of the previous two days.

Rueben Johnny Nanooch of John D’or Prairie was arrested and been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats x2
  • Forcible confinement x2
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Mischief under $5,000 x2
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The 41 year-old Nanooch is scheduled to appear in Fort Vermillion provincial court on December 22.
