Salvation Army still seeking volunteers for kettle campaign
With the countdown to Christmas underway, the Grande Prairie Salvation Army is still searching for more volunteers to help out with their kettle campaign.
This year’s campaign has felt the effects of COVID-19, as many of their regular volunteers, which are seniors, have had to take a step back and not volunteer their time because of the ongoing COVID-19 threat.
Captain Peter Kim with the Salvation Army says he hopes that members of the community can step up and give a few hours of their time to help the campaign.
“We’re definitely on the look out for more. We actually do have some seniors who are going out faithfully to do the kettle campaign, so we’re thankful for that. We’re hoping that the younger generation will come and join us as well.”
