Three new COVID-19 cases in Grande Prairie, three recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie’s active COVID-19 case total held at 70 for December 1, as there were three new cases recorded for Tuesday alongside three more recoveries.

The County of Grande Prairie once again added no new cases along with three more recoveries. There are now 18 active cases there.

This is the second consecutive day the City and County of Grande Prairie have combined to be below 100 active cases of COVID-19, which now have 88 combined active cases.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day December 1 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 492 cases (70 active, 418 recovered, four deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 172 cases (18 active, 153 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 94 cases (29 active, 64 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Six cases (one active, five recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 31 cases (three active, 28 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 79 cases (one active, 68 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 67 cases (13 active, 49 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 67 cases (34 active, 33 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 134 cases (39 active, 95 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 52 cases (one active, 50 recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (97 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 23 cases (eight active, 15 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 69 cases (three active, 66 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 432 cases (six active, 413 recovered, 13 deaths)

Alberta added 1,685 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, following the completion of 18,432 tests. Premier Jason Kenney announced that the province’s positivity rate sits at around 9.2 per cent.

There were 10 more deaths reported Wednesday that are linked to COVID-19 in Alberta. A total of 561 Albertans have now died from COVID-19 complications.

Hospitalizations in Alberta surpassed 500 on Tuesday, rising to 504 as of December 1. Ninety-seven of those individuals are in an ICU.

In the North Zone there are 26 people in hospital with COVID-19, two of whom are in an ICU.
