A search of a home in Westpointe by the Grande Prairie RCMP has led to the arrest of several people and the recovery of a “significant amount” of forged documents.

The search was done on November 15, after police received a tip from the public. It led to the seizure of many forged and fraudulent documents, currency, and equipment to create both, including:

  • fraudulent PAL (Firearms Possession & Acquisition Licence) cards
  • fraudulent credit and debit cards
  • numerous fraudulent cheques, including those labelled as Government of Canada cheques
  • fraudulent Identification cards (such as Alberta and Ontario driver’s licences)
  • counterfeit currency
  • computers, printers, laminator machines, printing paper
  • other equipment used to create fraudulent cards & ID

Body armour and ammunition were also recovered during the search.

Five individuals were arrested at the home, four of whom are facing a litany of charges. Those charged include 26-year-old Dillan Redekopp, 40-year-old Kevin Stolth, and 34-year-old Sarah Hart, each of Grande Prairie, as well as 30-year-old Jason Weatherall of Edmonton.

Weatherall, Stolth, and Hart are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on January 27. An arrest warrant has been issued for Redekopp.

Grande Prairie RCMP thank the public for coming forward with the information that led to this seizure and ask anyone to report any information regarding this or any other illegal activity to the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

“Fraud, counterfeiting, and theft have a large-scale impact on our communities, and the RCMP is committed to enforcing these laws and stopping those responsible for these crimes,” say Grande Prairie Mounties in a news release.
