Grande Prairie adds 10 new COVID-19 cases, seven recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added 10 new COVID-19 cases alongside seven recoveries for December 11, bringing the City’s active case total to 114 as of the end of day Friday.

There were no new cases recorded in the County of Grande Prairie for Friday along with one recovery. There are now 20 active cases there.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day December 11 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 595 cases (114 active, 475 recovered, six deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 192 cases (20 active, 171 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 112 cases (20 active, 91 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Seven cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 31 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 81 cases (two active, 69 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 78 cases (14 active, 59 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 86 cases (18 active, 68 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 165 cases (28 active, 137 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 54 cases (two active, 51 recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (97 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 52 cases (27 active, 25 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 69 cases (all recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 457 cases (24 active, 419 recovered, 14 deaths)

Alberta added 1,590 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday after 20,227 tests were completed. Friday’s test positivity rate was 7.8 per cent.

Thirteen more deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported on Friday in Alberta, bringing the province’s death toll 697.

Hospitalizations in Alberta dropped by three to 681, while ICU admissions increased by five to 128. In the North Zone, 29 people are in hospital, three less than the day prior. Four of those 29 people have been admitted to the ICU.
