Grande Prairie adds 12 new COVID-19 cases, two more recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added 12 new cases of COVID-19 for Saturday alongside two recoveries, bringing the City’s active case total to 124 as of December 12.

The County of Grande Prairie added five new cases and no recoveries, bringing the active case total there to 25.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day December 12 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 607 cases (124 active, 477 recovered, six deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 197 cases (25 active, 171 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 114 cases (20 active, 93 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Seven cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 32 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 81 cases (two active, 69 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 86 cases (22 active, 59 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 88 cases (20 active, 68 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 167 cases (30 active, 137 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 54 cases (two active, 51 recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (97 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 58 cases (32 active, 26 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 69 cases (all recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 457 cases (26 active, 420 recovered, 14 deaths)

Alberta added 1,717 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday after 21,725 tests were completed. Saturday’s test positivity rate was 7.9 per cent.

Twenty-two more deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported to Alberta Health across the province on Saturday, bringing the province’s death toll 719.

Hospitalizations in Alberta held at 681, while ICU admissions increased by eight to 136. In the North Zone, 29 people are in hospital, the same amount as the day prior. Four of those 29 people have been admitted to the ICU.
