Hiker spends night out in the cold after getting lost west of Nordegg
A hiker not heard from since embarking on a day trip Saturday in the Nordegg area was located on Sunday.
Rocky Mountain House RCMP say Keith Morris, who is 45, is alive and well. He was located near Siffleur Falls, which is about 45 minutes southwest of Nordegg in the Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve off Highway 11.
This after authorities say it was about 11 a.m. on December 12 when Morris told his parents he was going for a hike or a cross-country ski west of Nordegg, and that he would return by 3 p.m.
“Morris had lost his bearings during his hike and was not able to locate his vehicle,” Mounties say. “Mr. Morris did not sustain any injuries but is being assessed by Emergency Medical Services as a precaution.”
