Collision investigation leads to drug trafficking charges
A northern Alberta man has been arrested and charged after a “significant” amount of drugs and cash were seized following a single vehicle collision earlier this month.
Valleyview and High Prairie RCMP responded to the collision on December 13, where authorities say the driver was taken to Valleyview hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver was then arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Police say 880 grams of suspected methamphetamine and over $6,200 cash was recovered at the scene upon investigation, which authorities say is ongoing.
