Alberta Health Services has released a “modified update” on COVID-19 for Thursday, detailing statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.

For New Year’s Eve, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided a brief overview of the numbers for December 30. It does not give a regional or community-level breakdown.

Approximately 1,200 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 101,628.

Around 16,900 tests were conducted in this period, meaning the positivity rate rests around seven per cent.

Hinshaw’s update mentions that hospitalizations are “increasing” and that ICU admissions are “stable”, although exact numbers were not provided.

No local or detailed figures on COVID-19 will be provided again until Monday, January 4.
