Gary Peter Rynsburger, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the age of 65 years.
Gary was born December 14, 1955, and was raised on the family farm just west of Grande Prairie. As a child, he enjoyed all aspects of farm life: fresh air, open spaces, operating machinery, and sometimes even doing chores! After completing school, he continued to farm in the area for several years. Circumstances changed, and he tried his hand at various occupations, including: custom combining, home building, equipment operation, and commercial construction.
Gary was a multi-talented individual and was good at, or should we say, a perfectionist at whatever he set his mind to. Carpentry was one of those skill sets; he could build anything from a tree fort in the bush to a modern-day bungalow!
His leisure time was occupied with collecting vintage vehicles and scheming ways of restoring them to their original pristine condition. He also loved using his photography skills to capture the beauty of everything around him. His attention to detail was evident in all he put his hand to.
Gary’s devotion to the Lord was evident in his relationships and everyday life.
Gary will be missed by his sisters Yvonne (Bob) Whittaker, Joan Freed, Nancy (Darren) Haughian, Sharon (Colin) Peters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles in Canada, Holland and South Africa; he will also be missed by his friends as well as fellow church members.
We would like to thank the nurses and staff on 3N and 5N for their care and support of Gary during his stay at the QEII Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at Oliver’s Funeral Home on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 10:00am. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, numbers will be restricted to invitation only. A livestream will be available to the public 15-30 minutes prior to the start of the service.
“No one has seen nor has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Cor 2:9 (pt)
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta (#144, 5241 Calgary Trail NW., Edmonton, AB, T6H 5G8).
