The family of Floyd Herbert Gable would like to announce his passing from this world into the next.
Floyd was born on March 22, 1931 and passed at home on the farm surrounded by his immediate family on January 12, 2021.
Floyd was a loving, generous, Christian husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a hard worker who took great pride in his work and passed these qualities to his children. He was a good teacher and led by example. Floyd’s motto was, “If you’re going to do something, do it right and to the very best of your ability.”
Floyd worked as a driller on the oil rigs at the beginning of his career, but his best love was for his farming. He took great pride in his clean fields and beautiful crops. Floyd was also a kind, generous man who always had time to help those in need.
Floyd leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife for 67 years Eva, his brother Roy, daughter Connie (Don), sons Kirk (Wendy), and Lorne, along with 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Valentine and Emily, brothers Clarence and Roland, and sisters Myrtle, Evelyn, Frieda, Elnora and Virginia, his son Neil and grandsons Nicholas and Patrick. Also left to mourn are numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Floyd is planned for this summer.
Our family also wishes to extend a sincere thank you to relatives and friends for your support, thoughtfulness and comforting words in our loss. We will miss him.
