Bandaged Paws bringing back Furever a Valentine fundraiser

Jan 23, 2021 | 6:00 AM

Bandaged Paws is bringing back its Furever a Valentine fundraiser for the second straight year.

This year, people can purchase packages that include a rose, bottle of wine or sparkling juice and handmade chocolates. Every package also includes a card with a puppy on it.

All of the packages sold this year feature items from local businesses to help give back to the community.

There are 75 packages available. In 2020, the organization raised $1,000 from this fundraiser.

“Every fundraiser for us is very important and helps us do what we do every day,” explained Danika Kalmbach with Bandaged Paws. “Now that we’re in a new facility, our expenses are quite a bit higher than when we were volunteer and foster-based. Our focus on fundraising and sponsorships is quite high right now.”

The non-profit organization relies on fundraisers like this to help its operations continue to run.

Kalmbach adds any money raised will help.

“We are in a place in our organization where we’re growing a lot since moving into this facility. I don’t know if that growth is due to COVID, but we’ve been doing really well. The only thing we’ve really seen really due to COVID is a decrease in corporate sponsorship.”

While sponsorship money is down because of COVID, Kalmbach mentioned that the shelter is still averaging similar adoption and animal numbers compared to years previous.

If you’re interested in helping Bandaged Paws and buying a package, you can find the full menu of items on their Facebook page.
