Jan 25, 2021 | 3:23 PM

RCMP in Grande Prairie have arrested a suspect in a weekend stabbing in Prince George, B.C.

Cst. Jennifer Cooper with the Prince George RCMP says police found a man suffering from stab wounds shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday in the basement of a residence on the 1100 block of Vancouver Street in the B.C. community.

“Police in Grande Prairie apprehended the suspect, now identified as 28-year-old Jacob Johan Vanderminne, at 2 p.m. MST on Sunday, Jan.24,” said Cooper.

“Jacob Vanderminne’s arrest would not have been possible so quickly without information provided to police from the public.”

She says the B.C Prosecution Service has approved one charge of aggravated assault.

Cooper says the victim and suspect are known to each other and says police believe it was a targeted attack.

The investigation is ongoing.
