January 25, 1945 – January 20, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bob Anderson at the QEII hospital on January 20, 2021. Bob was born in Sangudo, Alberta on January 25th, 1945. He spent his childhood on a small farm near Boyle and graduated from high school there. He then went on to receive his electrical ticket from NAIT. Bob worked his trade with a telephone company in New Zealand for a time before coming back to Alberta where he was hired by AGT (now Telus) where he worked for 31 years. After retiring, he worked in sales for Resource Purchasing, Peerless Page, and Northern Metallic.
In 1980 he met and married Judy Wilson in Calgary, and together they made their first home in Whitecourt. It was there that they were blessed with the birth of twins, a boy and a girl, making the family complete before they moved to Grande Prairie and made that their home. Bob’s health diminished and he spent the last three years with Grande Prairie Care Centre as his home.
In his younger years Bob loved hiking and skiing in the mountains. He loved animals. He enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on the Oilers and Blue Jays. Coffee with friends and family was always a highlight. The cabin at Marean lake Saskatchewan was always a favorite get away.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy, children Keith and Naomi, brother-in-law Mike Radminovich of Boyle, Alberta, nephews Larry (Tami) and their children Logan, and Karcyn; and Dave (Suzie) of Edmonton. He was pre-deceased by his parents Clifford and Rose Anderson, brother James and sister Beverly, parents-in-law Manfred and Leah Wilson, and brother-in-law Dan Cabatan.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private graveside service will be held on February 5, 2021, at the Grande Prairie Cemetery. Thanks to Pastor Dave Friesen for officiating and for the many visits over the years, to Dr. Pope for the care and concern in the past years, and thank you to the nurses and care aides who showed so much kindness and taking the time to connect with our family.
