No new COVID-19 cases recorded in City of Grande Prairie

There were no new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the City of Grande Prairie for February 2, while also recording eight new recoveries, lowering the active case total to 136 as off the end of day Tuesday.

There was one new cases recorded in the County of Grande Prairie while one new recovery was also recorded, holding the active case total at 40.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day February 2 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 1,201 cases (136 active, 1,044 recovered, 21 deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 359 cases (40 active, 315 recovered, four deaths)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 293 cases (25 active, 266 recovered, two deaths)
  • Birch Hills County: Nine cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 44 cases (two active, 42 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: 15 cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 109 cases (two active, 97 recovered, 10 deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 445 cases (22 active, 413 recovered, 10 deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 201 cases (40 active, 161 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 367 cases (34 active, 333 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 56 cases (55 recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: 106 cases (one active, 104 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 218 cases (10 active, 207 recovered, one death)
  • County of Northern Lights: 72 cases (one active, 71 recoveries)
  • Mackenzie County: 560 cases (37 active, 508 recovered, 15 deaths)

Alberta as a whole added 259 new cases for Tuesday, after just 6,837 tests were completed, creating a positivity rate of 3.5 per cent.

Eleven more deaths linked to COVID-19 were announced by Alberta Health on Wednesday, raising the COVID-19 death toll to 1,671.

Hospitalizations dropped to 539, down 17 from Monday, with ICU admissions now sitting at 94.

In the North Zone, 57 people are in hospital, with seven of those individuals in an ICU.
