Eastlink Centre announces re-opening plans

Feb 5, 2021 | 3:29 PM

The Eastlink Centre will re-open its doors on Monday as the province moves into Step 1 of the Government of Alberta’s Path Forward.

Starting now, bookings are available for one-on-one training sessions with contracted personal trainers.

Those booking a training session can work out either individually or with members of the same household.

All coaches and trainers participating will be wearing masks at all times of the workout.

Also starting on Monday, schools will also be allowed back into the facility and will be able to participate in various activities.

Angela Redding, the General Manager of the Community Knowledge Campus, tells EverythingGP, while Eastlink will be re-opening, this will not affect anyone who currently owns a membership.

“Our memberships will remain on hold. This is all separate outside of the Eastlink Centre membership.”

Prices for one-on-one personal training can be found on the Eastlink Centre website.

Redding also mentioned that as part of their re-opening plan, they’re in discussions with Grande Prairie Minor Hockey and the Grande Prairie Piranhas Swimming Club regarding one-on-one sessions for athletes. Full details on those programs have yet to be revealed.

It has been seven weeks since the facility was last open. Redding says they will make it a safe experience for everyone that is involved.

“Above all, it’s our commitment to the community that we continue to provide services and availability within the provincial guidelines as much as we can. We prioritize health and safety and work out from there.”
