Grande Prairie RCMP arrest man wanted for breaching release conditions

UPDATE (2:00 p.m. Feb. 11): The Grande Prairie RCMP say they have arrested 38-year-old Benjamin Jackson Prince, who was wanted on charges of breaching his release conditions.

Prince was remanded into custody and is to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court Feb. 25.

RCMP say they would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.

The Grande Prairie RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating 38-year-old Benjamin Jackson Prince from Grande Prairie after he breached his release conditions.

As a result of a previous criminal charge, Prince was out in the community awaiting court on a number of conditions of release. On January 31, Prince was found to be in breach of hose conditions.

The RCMP have been unable to locate him, however, he was last seen on the west side of Grande Prairie on Jan. 31, by Walmart, and authorities believe he is still in the city.

Prince has been charged for breaching his release orders and faces new charges of assault and uttering threats. A warrant for this arrest has been obtained.

Prince is described as an Indigenous man, standing 6′ tall, 220 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.
