High Prairie RCMP execute more than 100 warrants during initiative
High Prairie RCMP say they executed over 100 outstanding warrants in the first part of February and recovered drugs, weapons, and stolen vehicles.
The 105 warrants were carried out from February 1 through 15 in High Prairie, Whitefish First Nations and the Peavine, Gift Lake, and East Prairie Metis Settlements as part of what Mounties call a targeted warrant initiative.
Mounties say new charges laid include possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to attend court, and failure to comply with conditions.
“This initiative allows for a number of investigations that have remained stagnant in warrant status to continue before the courts,” says Sgt. Brent Lawson, Operations NCO of High Prairie RCMP in a news release from the detachment.
