One dead after head-on collision near Grimshaw

Highway 2A between Grimshaw and Peace River is currently closed, as RCMP investigates a head-on collision that has left one person dead and three others injured.

Peace Regional RCMP was notified around 9:42 Saturday morning about a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2A near Township road 834.

The deceased, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The extent of the injuries is not known.

Traffic is being diverted around the accident scene and is expected to be like that for several hours.

Mounties are asking motorists to avoid the area, as they investigate the cause with the assistance of a Collision Analyst.
