Berg, Lyle Clearance

Lyle Clearance Berg, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 93 years.
Lyle was born on April 27, 1927, in Saskatoon, SK.
Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Valerie (Greg) Durda; granddaughter Megan (Brian); and great-granddaughter Alexandra.
He was predeceased by his wife Ada of 66 years; parents Gehard and Tilla Berg; brother Norman Berg; sister Lillian Cissell; four infant brothers; and his beloved grandson Matthew Durda.
He will be remembered as a lifelong resident of Bezanson, AB, where he loved farming, gardening, yard work, and tinkering in his shop.
He learned to play the violin from his dad when he was a young child. His love for playing at dances started then and continued throughout his life.
As a young man he played baseball for the Bezanson Eagles and he was an avid sports fan his whole life.
Lyle enjoyed camping, playing cards, and travelling. His travels included several cruises, Ireland, Europe, Norway, and many trips to Hawaii.
He was a kind and gentle man who was a wonderful husband, father, papa and uncle.
Even though he will be sadly missed we are confident that he is now safe and secure in God’s arms.
A private Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 11:00am with the interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery (84 Ave. and 112 St).
