10-year sentence handed out in Grande Prairie manslaughter case
A Grande Prairie court has handed a 10-year jail sentence to a man who pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter in October of 2019.
Trevor Eldon Martineau was originally charged with murder after the February 16, 2019 death of 48-year-old Pierre Quesnel of Grande Prairie.
Quesnel’s family says he was the victim of a random attack.
Martineau was also given a lifetime firearms prohibition and ordered to submit a DNA sample in Grande Prairie Court of Queen’s Bench Friday.
