Alberta Health confirms 950 new COVID-19 cases in the province

Preliminary data from Alberta Health shows 950 new cases of COVID-19 were identified across the province on Saturday, April 3.

The new cases come following the completion of 11,200 tests, meaning the positivity rate for the day was eight per cent.

Among the new cases, there were 600 variants of concern identified. COVID-19 variants now make up 38 per cent of all active cases in the province.

Alberta Health also says hospitalizations continued to remain stable over the past 24 hours.

Alberta Health has only released preliminary data over the weekend. Full details on local numbers, hospitalizations, variants and vaccinations will be released on Monday, April 5.
