City begins tree removal in multiple locations for Bear River Outfall Rehabilitation program
City of Grande Prairie crews have begun working at three select sites directly adjacent to City infrastructure to remove vegetation and trees in preparation for the Bear River Outfall Rehabilitation program.
The Bear River outfalls are the points where the City’s storm sewer system ends and the water exits into the river. This is inspected by City crews regularly and they replace them on a priority basis based on their condition.
The removal of the vegetation is to allow for the replacement of existing outfalls that have reached the end of their lifespan.
Those using the trails are being asked to be mindful of crews as trail closures may be in effect.
