Storm snap three game losing skid
Paycen Bjorklund’s goal in the fourth round of the shoot out stood up as the winner as the Grande Prairie Storm picked up a 3-2 win in Fort McMurray on Friday night.
Cooper Connell and Ethan Strang also scored for the Storm, who were playing their first game since March 27th, after cases of COVID-19 forced the Storm, the Whitecourt Wolverines, and the Drayton Valley Thunder to shut down in-ice operations for two weeks.
Joe Howe made 34 saves in net for the Storm, who led 1-0 after the first period. The teams were tied at two after 40 minutes.
The win snapped a three game losing streak for the Storm, who last tasted victory back on March 20th, a 3-1 home ice triumph over Drayton Valley.
