Police believe the body of a man who disappeared while canoeing in northern Alberta last year has been recovered.
RCMP in Slave Lake say they got a call Sunday afternoon from an oil-spill services company, which was conducting training, that they had found a human body in Fawcett Lake.
The 31-year-old man was last seen on the morning of October 5th and it is believed he had planned to use the canoe before setting off to hunt in the area.
Community members searched for him when he was overdue, and later found his canoe overturned.
