Grande Prairie’s Alexander Martinez is preparing for one of the biggest fights of his professional career on June 10.

On Thursday it was announced that Martinez would face off against former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis on the Professional Fighting League’s (PFL) main card.

Pettis is a household name for many fans of MMA. He has gone up and fought against some of the best fighters in the world.

Some notable names he’s faced off against include Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Gilbert Melendez, Eddie Alvarez, Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson and Nate Diaz.

Earlier this year, Pettis made his transition away from the UFC and moved to PFL, where he lost to Clay Collard via a unanimous decision on April 23.

Meanwhile, Martinez defeated Loik Radzhabov from Tajikistan via a split decision on the same April 23 PFL fight card. It was his first win of the season.

The fight will take place in the Lightweight division. Martinez holds a professional fighting record of 8-0.

The main event will be viewable on TSN starting at 8:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on June 10.
