Former federal cabinet minister Amarjeet Sohi enters race for Edmonton mayor

EDMONTON – A former federal Liberal cabinet minister has thrown his name into the race to be Edmonton’s next mayor.

Amarjeet Sohi, who has also served as an Edmonton city councillor, made the announcement on Facebook this morning.

He says the challenges facing Edmonton seem daunting, but they are not insurmountable.

Sohi becomes the tenth candidate in the race to succeed Mayor Don Iveson, who announced last fall that he won’t seek re-election.
