County resuming construction work on 162 Avenue Tuesday

Construction work on 162 Avenue in Clairmont will be starting up again following the long weekend.

Work on the road just south of Highway 43X was started last year but was halted due to winter conditions. The continuance of work will involve removing the top layer of gravel, repairing the base of the road, if needed, packing the current road surface and paving a layer of asphalt.

Moderate delays can be expected by drivers while work is ongoing. Speed will be reduced in construction zones and traffic may be reduced to a single alternating lane, be detoured or have rough non-gravel surfaces.

The County asks drivers to follow all signage and flag persons, and use caution when driving through the site.
