Man and woman arrested and charged in Valleyview after drug bust

A pair from Valleyview have been charged after a residence in the town was searched by Valleyview RCMP and Grande Prairie ALERT.

On January 10, 2018, the search warrant was executed at a residence on 53 Street in Valleyview.  Investigators seized 18.7g of methamphetamine, 3.8g crack cocaine, cash, drug paraphernalia, and bear spray.

Thirty-year-old Angela Denise Tokar and 41-year-old Michael Louis Haynes have been charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking (x2), possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000 and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. 

Both Tokar and Haynes were released from police custody.  They are due in Valleyview Provincial Court on February 1, 2018.

“Collaborating on projects targeting drug trafficking with our law enforcement partners is integral for our crime reduction strategy. We will continue our efforts in reducing crime in our community” said S/Sgt. Carolin Respet, Valleyview Detachment Commander.
