GPRC Women’s Volleyball team proud of successful season

Feb 28, 2019 | 5:12 AM

It has been a week since the GPRC Women’s Volleyball team season came to an end at Provincials, and the team is reflecting on their successful campaign which saw them make it back to the playoffs.

Despite going 0-2 at the Provincial tournament, Head Coach Chantelle Lamotte still sees the weekend as a success.

“Obviously we would have liked to have come away with wins and we had some very tight matches, but overall we proved that we deserved a seat at Provincials.”

Lamotte added, her team was quite proud to be able to head down to Calgary and represent the Swan City at the Provincial Championships.

Looking at the year, Lamotte says she is extremely proud of the way the year went, despite finding challenges along the way.

“We had tons of talent and being able to find that consistency piece from week to week was something which was a bit of a challenge but is something that you are always working towards.”

The GPRC Women’s Volleyball team finished 4th place in the North division and was one of the youngest teams in the ACAC with 11 of their 15 roster players playing in their 1st or 2nd year.
