Intersection 100 St. & 84 Ave. closing Saturday morning for paving

The intersection of 100 Street and 84 Avenue in Grande Prairie will be closed on Saturday morning for paving work.

As part of the ongoing work between 84 Avenue and 68 Avenue on 100 Street, which began May 17, the intersection to the northeast of the southside Safeway will be closed for approximately six hours on June 12, between 6 a.m. and noon.

North and southbound traffic will be maintained through single lane, alternating traffic. Eastbound motorists will be detoured to the south, while westbound traffic will be detoured north during this time.

The 84 Avenue truck route between Resources Road and 108 Street will be closed for the day.

The speed limit will be reduced to 30km/h and drivers are asked to use caution, obey all signage and follow the direction of flag persons.

The city says transit Route 3 will run as normal, with a maximum wait time of five minutes.
