Historic Dunvegan visitor centre and buildings to remain closed for 2021 season
Despite Alberta moving into Stage 2 of its Open for Summer Plan, the provincial government has announced that the visitor centre and buildings at Dunvegan Provincial Park will remain closed throughout the 2021 season.
“While Alberta announced that museums and historic sites can reopen as part of Stage 2 of Alberta’s Open for Summer Plan, for some seasonal and smaller sites, given how short the season would be as well as the close quarters at some of these sites, the decision has been made to stay closed for 2021,” said a Government of Alberta spokesperson, in a statement to EverythingGP.
“Historic Dunvegan is still very active online and we will continue to post fun and exciting content on our social media (Facebook – @HistoricDunvegan). Please keep an eye on Alberta.ca/covid-19 and our website for any updates regarding the site reopening.”
While the attractions of the visitor centre and buildings remain closed, the campground at Dunvegan Provincial Park will remain open until September 27.
