MNP’s Grande Prairie office completed a donation towards the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation and Grande Prairie Regional College on June 13.

Over the last five years, MNP donated a total of $100,000 to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Learning Centre and the Simulation Lab at GPRC.

Dawn Miller with the Hospital Foundation says this donation has strongly benefited the construction of a new Learning Centre inside the hospital.

“It’s been a few years and we appreciate they made the commitment back then (in 2016) to support this and we felt the Learning Centre was a great place to show their support for the college and our healthcare workers,” said Miller.

“It (the Learning Centre) is an area where there are pods for learning and collaboration between students or for healthcare workers and physicians. It’s a good area that shows how we’re trying to keep learning and expand.”

Miller says the addition of funding into the Simulation Lab at GPRC will also help students and current healthcare workers continue to grow. The donation has helped GPRC purchase world-class equipment for their Simulation Lab.

One of those items purchased includes the “Noelle” Birthing Simulator from Guamard (Minogue Medical). This simulator can birth a simulated baby, as well as function as a female patient simulator.

Kory Brazel, MNP’s Regional Managing Partner for MNP Peace Region, says he’s happy they were able to present the Hospital Foundation and GPRC with this donation.

“We wanted to do something positive to support our community,” said Brazel.

“Through partner contributions and our annual team member silent auction we have been able to fund this initiative over the last 5 years. It has always been important to us to give back to the community we live in and we are proud to see it go towards the advancement of health in Grande Prairie.”
